We’re excited to announce the 30th Annual Alberni Valley Charity Golf Fundraising Co-op, happening July 4th and 5th, 2025. This long-standing community tradition has helped raise over $1 million for local charities.

A Brief History

Founded by NHL referee Rob Shick—who grew up in Port Alberni—the tournament began as a tribute to his younger brother Rick, who was born with clubfeet and benefited from life-changing care. The inaugural event raised funds for BC Children’s Hospital, and the success sparked what has become one of the Alberni Valley’s most impactful fundraising events.

Thanks to dedicated volunteers, sponsors, and community members, the tournament has supported numerous organizations throughout the years. In 2025, our chosen recipients are Outreach Therapy, the Backpack Program, and the Alberni Valley Rescue Squad.

We are proud to celebrate 30 years of giving back to our community.
